Our Story

Our Story

We think our story is worth telling, because it shows just how much care we’ve taken in creating these amazing venues.

Sourcing the very best ingredients has been a real labour of love. We’ve met some amazing people and sampled some of the very best produce in the West Country.

To your right is a video created by our friends at Onbrandfilms, interviewing our management team.

Here’s the story of the food we cook for you:

Our Beef

For great tasting beef we need to source the best ingredients.  We have searched far and wide for our beef and we believe some of the best comes from farms in Devon and Cornwall and on the Welsh Borders. From the minute we set foot on the farm we have chosen we knew these guys were right for us.

Warson Beef Farm's approach to farming mirrors our approach to food - pouring the same passion and attention to detail in to everything from the welfare of the animals to the maintenance of their buildings and farmland.

As well as Warson Beef Farm, we also use master butchers, Philip Warrens in Cornwall. Caring about our beef as much as we do the team ensures that all our beef meets our exacting standards of welfare and taste.

From the Welsh Borders we use a butchers called Neil Powell Master Butchers who have the same attention to detail and quality as Philip Warrens and he works closely with a Welsh Border farmer Johnny Morris of Willersley Court on the banks of the River Wye.

Johnny works with local breeds including Welsh Black and Herefords.

Our fish comes from a company called Fish for Thought, a Cornish fishing company which owns its own boat.

That means we can guarantee getting the freshest fish from their boat to your plate every day.
